Techromancy : Zero One

Two lovers enjoy an evening together.
One is flesh and bone, one is metal, silicon, rubber and the rest.
Their love is true.
Who are we to say otherwise?
That is the heart of techromancy.

How many times have you said, "I love this phone!", or "I love this computer!", "I love this digital camera!", or simply "I love this thing"? They store our memories, our financial details, our messages to others; they track our business, help us get from point A to point B, beyond and back. They keep us safe, feed us, entertain us and help us grow. We create it with love, why not love it back? For by loving technology, we love ourselves. Isn't that romantic? Techromancy has changed our world, inside and out, for better or for worse...and it has only just begun.

Out on the Town

The product of boredom at work one day, it is amazing what you can do with your hands while you are talking on the phone. I suppose at the time I was thinking about going out. Maybe I was going out that evening, I really do not remember.

Hmm...

But now that I think about it, I may have been having pang of homesickness, for this was made a coupla months after I moved from Los Angeles to return to my hometown of New York City. There are some clear signs here if one has the proper perspective. The helicopter, a ever present article of the LA skyline is something rarely seen in NYC. Also, while Madison Square Garden has it's name written on the side in big letters, the letters on the Staple Center are bigger. There are not rendered in the style that I have conjured here but still way bigger. The western setting Sun also seems like a giveaway, although that may have just been a reflection of the time of day and an eagerness to clock out and rock out.

Untitled Eleven

An abstract expression of individuality. 'Being woven of so many threads of varying shape, color and size how could I not be an individual? Do you see the same individuality in yourself?' This painting is a mirror. Take a look.

Reflection

Another piece that kind of just, threw itself out of my imagination. The story, written after the original drawing was done, goes like this. The elven woman is reflecting upon her life, love and progress. The mountains outside of her window are beautiful and strong like she is. The morning sun warms her face as it warms the mountains but does little to remove the layer frost that rests upon their shoulders.

Westside Dusky

Walking around Manhattan (nyc) one day I happened to look north at just the right time and was blown away by the luminosity and simultaneous lack thereof. I had to take the shot. A lot of my photography occurs in the same manner, I see something and I use what ever photo snapping device is readily available. Usually this means my 8mp Droid X cellphone camera. Most of the time, like this one, I am pleased with the results. How about you?

Untitled 20

This painting is something that I cherish. The choice of colors delivers a warm feeling to me. The composition of this piece reminds of how balance remains a common theme in my abstract artwork. What was going through my mind at the time is something I cannot recall. This is one of those pieces that created itself, but defied definition at the same time hence the name 'Untitled'. The number 20 was the first number that popped into my head while attempting to define it.

Zodiac by Kdg - Pisces

Inspired by the bright personalities of most of the Piscean folk that I have met, they are some of my favorite people.

its so late...

ah but beginnings are so great.
So this is all you get for now.
But in the words of a famous ex-governor,
"I'll be back".
